What are plugs? Plugs are plants grown in 72-cell trays; each soil plug is 1.6” wide x 3.2” deep. They are a great option for planting large gardens. We plant all of our own projects with plugs.
Fringed Puccoon has fantastic yellow flowers in late spring. It’s usually only found in dry, high quality prairies. It prefers full sun and dry soils, even those with sand or gravel. It’s a really easy plant to garden with and often blooms the first year. It even spreads a little bit by seed! Fringed Puccoon is a great plant to add to sun gardens.
We are one of the only native plant nurseries where you can buy Fringed Puccoon, and like our other plants, we grow it in our greenhouse from seed.

Fringed Puccoon is short and is most visible when planted near borders. Fringed Puccoon (Lithospermum incisum) blooms in spring along with other short dry prairie flowers such as Prairie Smoke and Blue Eyed Grass–which are good companions in a garden
