Prairie Pussytoes spreads by above ground runners to form short mats on the ground with fuzzy seadheads in the spring. It is a host plant for the caterpillars of American Painted Lady butterflies—having this plant in your garden means that you will have swarms of Painted Lady butterflies in summer.
